Safety Recall Campaigns 101
Traffic safety is a serious undertaking in the U.S. with the Department of Transportation empowering regulatory authorities like the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA)
to investigate reports of excessive safety risk. When the NHTSA
works alongside GM and finds a part or system to carry an undue safety threat that is preventable and needs to be corrected, a safety recall campaign is issued with a plan to correct the problem. The corrective plan will include specific details about the problem, what could happen if the problem is not corrected, and how to get the corrective service for free at a GM-certified service department. This positions us at Cable Dahmer Cadillac to provide the corrective safety recall service
for the XT6 if and when it occurs.
Will I be Notified if the XT6 has an Open Safety Recall?
Yes, regulatory authority demands that when a safety recall campaign opens that the owners of the vehicle included are notified via mail with a publication including all of the details needed for fixing the problem. The notification letter will outline the specifics of the problem, what the risks are, and how to get free corrective recall service from a GM-certified service department.
