Car Battery Ignition Starter Service

What is Car Battery Ignition & Starter Service?

The job of your car battery is to supply electricity to many of your vehicle's electrical systems. However, its primary and arguably its most important function is to power the starter. If the starter motor does not receive adequate power, your vehicle will not start. Most of the time, if your car has an electrical problem, it is due to insufficient charge in your battery. This can be remedied often times by simply charging the battery using the battery terminal of another vehicle. But if your battery is too old or damaged, then you'll have to replace it.

What is a Starter Battery?

Your starter motor is an electric motor that uses a small gear called a pinion to activate the engine. The pinion is attached to a gear which is attached to the motor of your vehicle. During ordinary operation, your vehicle runs on the power of gasoline combustion which is contained in a chamber that focuses the combustion power and transfers that power to the drive system. But how does the car startup if there is no combustion? That's where your starter motor comes in. The job of the starter motor is to “boot up” the vehicle and get the combustion process going. The battery powers the starter, and the starter does what its name suggests- starting the car. And, of course, the ignition gets the whole process started. Faulty batteries and starters are some of the most common causes of breakdowns and failures to start.

What happens if I don't do it now?

You can go a good long while on a struggling battery and a languishing starter motor. But eventually, your luck will run out. You could have a roadside breakdown and get stranded someplace where no other cars are around to jump your battery. The idea behind battery ignition and starter service is to prevent this.
